Useful information

After arriving to town, it is important to safely park your car. We recommend to use the car parks outside the centre – the festival is close to them and there is no reason to waste time searching for a parking space in the historical centre. The number of parking spaces in the squares and streets is limited, and many of them are reserved for the locals.

Two of the car parks are paid (one at the New Castle and one at Akademická street), the car park at Mládežnícka street is free all-year long. In the streets, parking is only paid from Monday till Saturday, 7:00 - 17:00 everyday. You can also pay via SMS: send the text BS (space) A1 to A 16 (space) followed by your license plate number – send this message to the number 2200.

Example: BS A5 BA123XY
Breaking the parking rules is punished by the vigilant local police – usually with a fine or even an immobilizing "slipper". Arrival to Banská Štiavnica with public transportation is detailed here
